Saving on Produce

It can be done!
All stores discount produce to help move product before it reaches its "sell by" date.

Take Kroger for instance, they mark down produce on Monday mornings. I have gotten shredded lettuce for $.80, bagged romaine for $1.20 and broccoli sprouts for $.50.

You can even score cheap organic produce this way. Most of the items will still have a self life of about four days, so only buy what you are going to eat that week or freeze.
